How Fast Is Our Response? Our monitoring station's automation system automatically processes all signals it receives, and sorts and displays them according to priority (with robbery, emergency-call, and burglary alarm signals receiving the highest priority) and time received (with the earliest signals being displayed for action first). It also generates a record of the time that each alarm signal is available for action, and also of the time that our dispatcher commences to take action upon that signal. The difference between these times is our response time. Our monitoring station manager reports that for a recent period the
average response time was slightly under 30 seconds. While not a
guarantee that this will be our response time for all signals, or of
the manner or timing of the response by your local police or fire
department, it does indicate that we keep precise records and that we
endeavor to perform our duties with timeliness and accuracy. © 2006 by 911 Inc; Used with permission. |
